Prediction factors for failure to seek treatment following traumatic dental injuries to primary teeth

摘要: The objective of this study was to evaluate prediction factors for failure seek treatment following a traumatic dental injury (TDI) primary teeth among preschool children in the city Campina Grande, Brazil. A cross-sectional carried out involving 277 3 5 years age, with TDI, enrolled public and private preschools. Parents filled form addressing demographic data whether or not they had sought treatment. Clinical examinations were performed by three dentists who undergone calibration exercise (Kappa: 0.85 0.90) evaluation TDI. Bivariate multivariate Poisson regression models constructed (α = 5%). Enamel fracture most prevalent type TDI (48.7%) upper central incisors affected (88.4%). frequency seeking low (9.7%). variables associated TDI: household income greater than one minimum wage (PR 1.170; 95%CI 1.018-1.341), parents/caregivers’ perception child’s oral health as poor 1.100; 1.026-1.176), non-perception parents/caregivers 1.250; 1.142-1.360). In present study, low, higher income, their lack awareness regarding trauma more likely fail teeth.
