摘要: Abstract The present study aims to investigate the effect of monosodium glutamate (MSG) both separately and combined with a low dose methylmercury (MeHg) on behavioral biochemical parameters in Nauphoeta cinerea (lobster cockroach). Cockroaches were fed basal diet alone, + 2% NaCl, MSG; diet + 0.125 mg/g MeHg, MeHg NaCl; MSG for 21 days. Behavioral such as distance traveled, immobility turn angle automatically measured using ANY-maze video tracking software (Stoelting, CO, USA). Biochemical end-points acetylcholinesterase (AChE), glutathione-S-transferase (GST), total thiol TBARS also evaluated. Results show that MeHg + NaCl, increased traveled while MeHg + MSG time immobile. AChE activity was significantly reduced cockroaches across all groups when compared control. There no significant alteration GST levels. It could be NaCl potentiates neurotoxic cockroaches.
