摘要: Abstract BACKGROUND: Cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) are highly crystalline rod-shaped nanoparticles, which can be obtained fromdifferent cellulose sources through acid hydrolysis. The nanometer size, morphology, facile preparation, and relatively low costmake these nanomaterials a new interesting candidate as precursor of biomass-based carbon nanostructures.RESULTS: were dispersed on the surface in internal layers expanded vermiculite clay(EV) thermally decomposed to form coating. SEM/EDS, TEM, IR, Raman, TGA BET techniques showed thepresence nanostructures formed by films, agglomerates spherical particles composed amorphous graphiticcarbon throughout EV surface.CONCLUSION: modified with produced strongly hydrophobic porous material that canpotentially used absorb oil spilling accidents emerging contaminants water. c 2012 Society Chemical Industry Supportinginformationmaybefoundintheonlineversionofthisarticle.
