Enhanced radial transport and energization of radiation belt electrons due to drift orbit bifurcations

摘要: [1]Relativistic electron intensities in Earth's outer radiation belt can vary by multiple orders of magnitude on the time scales ranging from minutes to days. One fundamental process contributing dynamic variability is radial transport relativistic electrons across their drift shells. In this paper we analyze properties three-dimensional a global magnetic field model driven variations solar wind pressure. We use test particle approach which captures anomalous effects such as orbit bifurcations. show that bifurcations lead an order increase rates and enhance energization at large equatorial pitch angles. Even quiet fluctuations pressure, angles exhibits strong deviations diffusion approximation. The are much lower small angle values results better agreement with
