摘要: To more closely define the risk of infection by agent Lyme disease in Europe, we determined whether spirochetal prevalence increases throughout development theIxodes ricinus vector tick. Of all ticks that could be flagged from vegetation,I. were far most abundant. Spirochetal rates adult stage this tick (15%) are no higher than those nymphs (18%) but greatly exceed larvae (0.7%). This therefore appears to attain mainly host its larval stage, generally feeds on hosts noncompetent as reservoirs nymphal and rarely inherits infection. Risk human derives contact with because larva is infected large enough noticed promptly removed.
