A Joint Inversion Method for Breast Imaging using Electromagnetic and Acoustics waves

摘要: Ultrasound and microwave scanners are developed to scan the breast on presence of cancer. Typically, these modalities used independently. Here we investigate if can achieve an improved resolution merge both into a single device. In particular, test improve resulting images by employing joint inversion method data sets as compared doing two independent inversions leading images. For error functional is employed that contains terms; first one represents mismatch between measured modeled acoustic electromagnetic wave fields whereas second term links reconstructed contrast profiles with each other. Results show Born leads indeed reconstruction inversions.
