摘要: Abstract Monotonic four-point bending tests were conducted using pipe specimens having an orifice undergoing local wall thinning. The effects of thinning on the fracture behaviors investigated. Local was machined inside pipes in order to simulate erosion corrosion metal loss. configurations eroded area l  = 100 mm axial length, d / t  = 0.5 and 0.8 thickness ratio, 2 θ  = 180° angle. subjected either tensile or compressive stress. Failure type could be classified into ovalization, buckling, crack initiation, depending stress at area. Three-dimensional elasto-plastic analyses also carried out finite element method, which is able accurately behaviors. analysis map constructed for with without based results investigate effect failure
