摘要: Ensuring timely access to care for persons with HIV is an important public health goal. To identify factors associated delayed presentation medical after testing HIV-positive or late testing, we studied 968 patients at their first visit, enrolled in a multicenter study Italy from 1997-2000. Patients completed questionnaire on HIV-testing history, sexual behavior, and drug use behavior. Delayed presenters were >6 months between test care; testers CD4 count < 200 /mm 3 clinically defined AIDS test. Among the patients, 255 (26.3%) presenters, 280 (28.9%) testers. In multinomial logistic regression analysis, injection significantly increased (odds ratio [OR]= 5.04) probability of but reduced (OR = 0.55) chance testing. A previous HIV-negative was risk both 0.39) 0.36). Unemployment positively increasing age whereas counseling time positive strongly 0.42) odds presentation. Interventions aimed promoting HIV-infected should consider differentiated programs
