摘要: Exploration plays a key role in the development of children. While exploring, children develop new skills by perceiving and acting upon possibilities for action that are specified environment. This study examined relations between young children’s exploration during free play spatial characteristics indoor playroom space childcare centers, using an observation scheme based on Gibson’s theory perception-action affordances. The was carried out mixed-age groups, with ages ranging 11 48 months. results showed depth positively related to use tables activity also child’s task-orientation as rated caregivers. Breadth revealed reversed pattern relations. findings indicate studying affordances-guided cycles can contribute more comprehensive understanding attributes exploratory play.
