摘要: Abstract Paraganglioma is an uncommon benign tumour of the temporal bones. It usually causes pulsatile tinnitus, recurrent ear bleeds, deafness or facial palsy and rarely associated with chronic suppurative otitis media (CSOM). The latter may lead to false histopathological findings. We present unusual case a 45-year-old female right glomus that was CSOM large polyp protruding from auditory canal. Despite preoperative investigations including computed tomography, diagnosis could not be established. After taking biopsy, curative operation had abandoned because torrential intra-operative haemorrhage. initial biopsy report suggested cholesteatoma; however, further studies S-100 protein immune-staining revealed it paraganglioma. Large aural polyps granulation tissues in can mask characteristic features these vascular tumours. recommend differential similar cases performing optimum radiological immunological staining confirm diagnosis.
