摘要: Summary Approximately 1–2% of net primary production by land plants is re-emitted to the atmosphere as isoprene and monoterpenes. These emissions play major roles in atmospheric chemistry air pollution–climate interactions. Phenomenological models have been developed predict their emission rates, but limited understanding function regulation these has led large uncertainties model projections quality greenhouse gas concentrations. We synthesize recent advances diverse fields, from cell physiology remote sensing, use this information propose a simple conceptual volatile isoprenoid based on metabolism chloroplast. This may provide robust foundation for scaling up cellular global scale.
