摘要: This article analyses how neoliberal restructuring encouraged the use of participatory methods in agricultural research Bolivia and how, at a later stage, development initiatives had to be adapted prevent conflicts with post-neoliberal views farmer organizations. The contributes debate on normalization agrarian development. Engaging Foucault's work governmentality neoliberalism, our analysis goes beyond interpretations participation which conceptualize it exclusively as technology power discipline subjects. Drawing distinction between liberal moment research, we study case PROINPA (Foundation for Promotion Research Andean Products), national NGO that was once part state system but then privatized. Although employed mainly enhance managerial effectiveness, also facilitated moments from below. We argue designed by this type is not just ‘technical’ professionals would like perceive it, nor simply ‘political’ critical hold. Instead malleable sense each actor involved finding new balance technical, economic political considerations.
