Migrating subcutaneous swellings due to dirofilariasis after a visit to the South of France

摘要: In two women, aged 59 and 31 years, who suffered from an itching cutaneous nodule, subcutaneous dirofilariasis was diagnosed. The disease is characterised by recurrent migrating nodules swellings. Both patients recently visited the South of France. Laboratory examination revealed a moderate eosinophilia. both patients, filaria antibodies were demonstrated during course nodule eventually resected. Parasitological Dirofilaria repens. After this swellings did not recur. Dirofilariasis zoonosis common in dogs cats, transmitted mosquitoes. humans, most clinical manifestation case D. repens, pulmonary infiltrate (coin lesion on radiographs) immitis. Filarial serology often positive. diagnosis confirmed parasitological excised nodule. usually innocuous; it disappears after worm has died but can cause to worry.
