An investigation of the H2 uptake in Mg-Nb-O ternary phases

摘要: Various Mg/Nb/O mixed phases have been prepared by solid state reaction in order to mimic similar compounds formed the ball milled system composed of MgH2 and Nb2O5. The latter oxide has a role as promoter hydrogen uptake desorption Mg/MgH2 for storage. One phase particular (Mg3Nb6O11) shown reversible molecular hydrogen, confirmed thermal experiments followed mass spectroscopy. Comparison behaviour this with NbO shows how interaction may be linked presence octahedral niobium clusters both oxides.
