摘要: cDNAs encoding for neuropeptide Y (NPY), cocaine and amphetamine regulated transcript (CART) cholecystokinin (CCK) were cloned in winter flounder, a species that undergoes period of natural fasting during the winter. Tissue distribution studies show these peptides are present several peripheral tissues, including gut gonads, as well within brain. We assessed effects season on expression peptides. Our results NPY CCK, but not CART, seasonal differences with higher hypothalamic lower CCK levels In summer, induced an increase decrease levels, did affect CART levels. None examined was affected by suggest maybe might have major role regulation feeding flounder contribute to fluctuations appetite this species.
