摘要: Escherichia coli SS142 has been found to adhere specifically the human epithelioid tissue culture cell line Intestine 407, but not other cells. This paper describes an accurate, reproducible and objective method of assessing rate adhesion radiolabelled bacteria these cellular monolayers. Adhesion was be linear with time for 60 min bacterial concentrations up 109 bacteria/ml. The binding appeared irreversible. affected by changes in composition medium, its pH or ionic strength, assay temperature within physiological limits, diminished at very high strength low temperature. It increased increasing density Under appropriate conditions could used comparative determinations different, differently treated bacteria.
