摘要: Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an immune-mediated disorder of the central nervous system that results in destruction myelin sheath surrounds axons and eventual neurodegeneration. Current treatments approved for treatment relapsing forms MS target aberrant immune response successfully reduce severity attacks frequency relapses. Therapies are still needed can repair damage particularly progressive which current therapies relatively ineffective. Remyelination restore neuronal function prevent further loss clinical disability. Recent advancements our understanding molecular cellular mechanisms regulating myelination, as well development high-throughput screens to identify agents enhance have lead identification many potential remyelination currently preclinical early development. One problem has plagued promote difficulty assessing patients with imaging techniques. Powerful new technologies making it easier discern patients, critical assessment these therapeutic strategies during trials. This review will summarize what known about failure MS, overcome this failure, pipeline promoting measuring patients.
