摘要: Abstract Ecological vulnerability assessment is essential to environmental and resource management, especially given recent global warming concerns. However, evaluation of ecological over large areas difficult complex because it affected by many variables, including natural factors human activities. Here, we propose a novel method evaluate the an eco-environment with typical ecologically fragile region, northern southern foothills Yinshan Mountains Inner Mongolia, China (NSFYM), as case study. The proposed based on definition IPCC framework remote sensing. results showed that in NSFYM was moderate or high had distinct regional variations spatial distribution. Overall, 29% seriously highly vulnerable appeared mainly highlands, where conditions are poor activities have been developing rapidly. Additionally, 31% medium levels occurred low lands, probably response agricultural practices. were found exhibited degrees exposure sensitivity weak adaptive capacity vice versa, consistent current understanding characteristics vulnerability. integrated here will be useful for protection eco-environments under climate change proper planning land use future.
