Methods and applications for ecological vulnerability evaluation in a hyper-arid oasis: a case study of the Turpan Oasis, China

摘要: The Turpan Oasis is a typical fragile environment that lies in an arid region of eastern Xinjiang and affected by natural conditions human activities. severity the land degradation desertification this area increasing; therefore, ecological vulnerability evaluations are important for environmental management region. In study, theories methods evaluating characteristics were summarized. By combining research driving factors vulnerability, multilayer evaluation index system was built, pressure-state-response model established to evaluate vulnerability. GIS remote sensing technologies applied extract each create spatial distribution map results showed values ranged from 3.08 6.59, with average value 5.19. Regions moderate accounted 81.85 % total area, whereas regions light serious 4.19 13.95 % respectively. Thus, more than 80 % had nearly 14 % degree increased east west, inner oasis significantly lower outer oasis. key restoration reconstruction control ensure water use greatest extent.
