摘要: Does positive thinking predict variance in school grades over and above that predicted by cognitive ability? Six hundred thirty nine high students participated a three-year longitudinal study using ability three variables – self-esteem, hope, attributional style. Hope, style higher grades, whilst self-esteem was less consistent predictor of academic performance. Structural equation modelling revealed significant paths from ability, gender, second order factor to grades. The results suggest intelligence, each play unique role predicting performance youth. Some suggestions for further research are made.
