Human chorionic gonadotropin and alpha-fetoprotein in testicular germ cell tumors. An immunohistochemical study in comparison with tissue concentrations

摘要: The relation between immunohistochemical demonstration and tissue concentration of humanchorionic gonadotropin (hCG) alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) was examined in 17 testicular germ cell tumors. There a good correlation their results; e.g., tumor with high hCG contained numerous positive cells, vice versa. immunoperoxidase localization AFP investigated 57 tumors including above 17. HCG revealed syncytiotrophoblastic giant cells seminoma or embryonal carcinoma as well syncytial choriocarcinoma, on rare occasion mononuclear cells. localized yolk sac occasionally hyaline globules. No stained concomitantly AFP. Pathogenetical significance positively discussed.
