摘要: Abstract When implantable recording devices for brain or neural electrical activity are designed, the number of available materials electrodes is quite limited. The material must be biocompatible with respect to ISO10993, its electrochemical properties remain stable and response cells tissues can mitigated, especially on glial scar. This involves electrode characterization pre- implantation impedance spectroscopy during chronic implantation, in order evaluate both performance. study was aimed at a comparison long-term behavior nanostructured boron-doped diamond (BDD) Platinum Iridium (PtIr) electrode. Firstly, batch cortical grids bare modified contacts (2 mm diameter) engineered implantation. Secondly miniature swine model developed. highlighted predominant role surface roughness quality recordings. Rough PtIr BDD coated ones showed comparable after three-month slight increase modulus tissue capsule. Nevertheless, immunohistochemistry analysis did not exhibit either toxic irritation reaction. With regard biocompatibility, promising long term results shown materials.
