摘要: OBJECTIVE To compare the efficacy of lycopene plus orchidectomy with alone in management advanced prostate cancer. PATIENTS AND METHODS Fifty-four patients histologically confirmed metastatic prostatic cancer (M1b or D2) and a performance status 0–2 (World Health Organization) were entered into trial between March 2000 June 2002. The comprised two treatment arms, i.e. randomized to (OL), each 27 patients. Lycopene was started on day at 2 mg twice daily. Patients evaluated clinically before every 3 months after intervention, measurements prostate-specific antigen (PSA), bone scan uroflowmetry, clinical response assessed as change these variables. RESULTS At 6 months there significant reduction PSA level both treatments, but more marked OL group (mean 9.1 26.4 ng/mL, P = 0.9). After 2 years changes consistent 3.01 9.02 ng/mL; P < 0.001). Eleven (40%) 21 (78%) had complete (P < 0.05), partial nine (33%) four (15%), progression seven (25%) (7%), respectively (P < 0.05). Bone scans showed that arm only (15%) response, vs eight (30%) (P < 0.02), 19 (70%) 17 (63%), (P < 0.02). There improvement peak flow rate group, mean difference +1.17 mL/s (P < 0.04). Of 54 who trial, (35%) died, 12 (22%) (13%) (P < 0.001). CONCLUSION Adding produced reliable decrease serum level; it not shrinks primary tumour also diminishes secondary tumours, providing better relief from pain lower urinary tract symptoms, improving survival compared alone.
