摘要: Clinical preceptors in respiratory therapy (RT) face a great deal of expectations from schools, students, and colleagues. They are expected to possess effective teaching skills qualities that signify their knowledge, expertise, professionalism. Thus, it is important identify distinguish characteristics present RT clinical preceptors, which will influence the success students reflect efficiency administrators. PURPOSE: The goal this study determine perceived be most least according administrators select Metro-Atlanta hospitals. METHODS: A descriptive survey was utilized gather data. an adaptation previous studies emailed all convenience sample. composed three general domains, professional competence, relationship with personal attributes. Moreover, thirty-five behavioral were provided based on five-point Likert scale. It ranked each characteristic’s importance. RESULTS: response rate 55.4% achieved. Female participants accounted for 47.22% participants, while male account 52.78%. Managers largest position group (25%), followed by directors (19.4%), assistant managers (16.7%), educational coordinators (16.7), supervisors (16.7) others (5.5%) represented as preceptor specialist. found important, “showing genuine interest patients care” “demonstrates skills, attitudes values developed area (Role modeling)” obtained highest ranking overall mean scores S.D (M 4.83, ±0.37). Other include responding promptly, demonstrating good communication facilitate critical thinking during practice managers. Meanwhile, being approachable, supportive helpful, facilitates practice, well showing competence important. On other hand, perceive demonstration attitudes, (role modeling) seen significant. Lastly, role modeling, ability communicate knowledge safe facilitating students’ awareness responsibility characteristics.
