The Spatial Division of Labour in the Sydney and Melbourne Information Technology Industries

摘要: This paper analyses the spatial distribution of employment in information technology (IT) industries Sydney and Melbourne 2006, occupations largest two IT industries, computer related equipment manufacturing, services. The analysis indicates main job locations: central inner city areas, a suburban business parks. Managerial professional predominate while there tend to be more integrated occupation profiles non-central clusters. Nevertheless, division labour identified here is relatively truncated, needs considered context global industry sector. policy implication arises from way that large firms' preferences for parks reduce accessibility lower income suburbs.
