摘要: ABSTACT Diabetes mellitus, a complex progressive metabolic disorder, leads to some oxidative stress related complications. Pycnogenol® (PYC), plant extract obtained from Pinus pinaster, has been suggested be effective in many diseases including diabetes, cancer, inflammatory and immune system disorders. The mechanisms underlying the effects of PYC diabetes need elucidated. aim this study was determine treatment (50 mg/kg/day, orally, for 28 days) on DNA damage biochemical changes blood, liver, kidney tissues experimental diabetic rats. Changes activities catalase, superoxide dismutase, glutathione peroxidase, reductase, glutathione-S-transferase enzymes, levels 8-hydroxy-2′-deoxyguanosine, total glutathione, malondialdehyde, insulin, bilirubin, alanine aminotransferase, aspartate gamma-glutamyl transferase, high density lipoprotein, low cholesterol, triglyceride were evaluated. also determined whole blood cells liver renal tissue using alkaline comet assay. significantly ameliorated stress, lipid profile, function parameters as well hyperglycemic results show that might improve hyperglycemia-induced physiological diabetes.
