摘要: Abstract This paper will explore the possibility of using colloidal particles as a bubble stabilising agent in froth flotation. Nearly monodisperse 300 nm silica were subjected to surface modification through an esterification reaction long chain alcohol create advancing contact angle 73.5 °. To study influence on growth and departure single bubble, experiments performed with capillary tube submerged hydrophobised suspension. A high-speed camera was used capture bubbling phenomena real time. The acquired videos then analysed extract parameters such size, frequency, time image-processing software. Experiments also carried out MIBC (methyl isobutyl carbinol) polyglycol type surfactant (poly(propylene glycol)), PPG) for comparison. results showed that increase particle concentration resulted decrease mean size produced at tip capillary. same trend observed both frothers.
