摘要: Digitalis lanata cell suspension cultures are not able to synthesize cardiac glycosides de novo but can be used modify exogenous ones. Among the conversion reactions observed, regio- and stereospecific 12β-hydroxylation of digitoxin derivatives their respective digoxin is special interest (1). In recent years, research carried out by Reinhard co-workers focussed on a process in which β-methyldigitoxin was as substrate for 12β-hydroxylation. The product, β-methyldigoxin, appeared spent medium where levels 500–700 mg dm−3 could reached. A semi-continuous production β-methyldigoxin devised run successfully 300 dm3 airlift bioreactor (2).
