摘要: Purpose: To investigate the effects of androgen testosterone propionate (TP), on regeneration recurrent laryngeal nerve (RLN) after unilateral crush injury using assessment vocal fold mobility (VFM) as a measure behavioral recovery. Methods: 48 adult male rats underwent standardized left RLN and received treatment in form 2 silastic capsules containing TP or controls receiving blank capsule (untreated). Direct laryngoscopic cord was performed before, immediately following 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 6 weeks post injury. Results: Treatment with enhanced recovery full VFM compared to controls. There statistically significant improvement seen at 1 week time points (p < 0.05). By 4 TP-treated displayed 100% function, only 50% by control group. Conclusions: enhances functional injury, which further supports its potential general applicability therapeutic agent peripheral
