摘要: Tremor in ostensibly normal people, aged 70-91, was assessed clinically and electrophysiologically with the goal of estimating prevalence abnormal tremor. Fifty men 50 women, mean age 76.0 +/- 4.7 yrs, were recruited through advertisements for healthy volunteers (n = "biased" control subjects) from spouses patients referred to us dementia or Parkinson's disease "unbiased" subjects). All participants interviewed examined by author. quantitatively rating scales, triaxial accelerometry, electromyography, a digitizing tablet, spectral analysis. Twenty-three people (23%) judged have mildly tremor resembling mild essential Twelve belonged biased group 11 unbiased group. The clinical diagnosis hand correlated well presence motor unit entrainment forearm EMG writing drawing that measurable tablet. Only 10 23 aware their tremor, none had been diagnosed previously physician. Nine 77 (11.7%) parent sibling possible five (21.7%) this family history. Mild undiagnosed is common
