摘要: Abstract Aquatic humic substances from eight confined and unconfined aquifer/aquitard groundwater systems were analyzed for their stable carbon, radiocarbon, deuterium, elemental contents. Fractionation of dissolved organic carbon (DOC) showed that are an important part the solute load in all groundwaters. Groundwater humates distinct other terrestrial humates, characterized by low oxygen (36%) high (53%) Elemental data water table wells suggests this characteristic depletion is mainly a result biochemical processes occur vadose zone. The isotopic composition range between −31 −24%. (PDB) with ann average −26%., reflect origins. deuterium values humate vary widely, reflection 2 H/H variability continental cycle. Radiocarbon analyses suggest predominant soil zone origin most although some influenced to varying degrees buried peat or coal. Soluble 14 C mean residence times up several hundred years before recharging due mixing young old sources, rather than advective times.
