摘要: ABSTRACT. Christophers' stages of ovarian development are elaborated and redefined to provide a more useful descriptive tool for mosquito physiology. Vital staining is advocated help identify the earliest vitellogenic follicles. By use vital it has been confirmed that in Aedes aegypti (L.) early ovaries contain negligible numbers dormant follicles, fecundity correlated with food intake by regulated resorption developing The concept developmental gates oogenesis discussed.
