摘要: Macrophages are immune cells that play a pivotal role in the detection and elimination of pathogenic microorganisms. possess variety surface receptors devoted to recognition non-self by discriminating between host pathogen-derived structures. Recognition foreign microorganisms macrophage ultimately results phagocytosis eventual destruction lysosomal enzymes, toxic reactive oxygen nitrogen intermediates, and/or nutrient deprivational mechanisms. However, protozoan parasites such as Toxoplasma gondii, Trypanosoma cruzi, Leishmania spp., parasitize macrophages, utilizing them cell for their growth, replication, maintenance life cycles. The genus unique intracellular replication is predominantly restricted single type, macrophage. This review focuses on cellular processes involved macrophage-mediated defense against parasites, from initial host-parasite interactions mediate mechanisms employed macrophages destroy eliminate pathogen. As an example model system experimental study, we describe more detail obligate parasite mammalian spp.
