摘要: Plate tectonic history, geological, geochemical (element and isotope ratios), seismological (P-wave tomography SKS splitting) data are combined with laboratory modeling to present a three-dimensional reconstruction of the subduction history central Mediterranean subduction. We fi nd that dynamic evolution Calabrian slab is characterized by strong episodicity revealed also discrete opening Tyrrhenian Sea. The has been progressively disrupted means mechanical thermal erosion leading formation large windows, both in southern Sea Apennines. Windows at lateral edges have caused dramatic reorganization mantle convection, permitting inflow subslab material causing complicated pattern magmatism region, coexisting K- Na-alkaline igneous rocks. Rapid, intermittent avalanches amounts lithospheric reduced length narrow (200 km) plunging down into enhancing end process.
