摘要: It is not yet established whether oxidative stress a major cause of cell death or simply consequence an unknown pathogenetic factor. Concerning chronic diseases, as Parkinson's and Alzheimer's disease are assumed to be, it possible that gradual impairment cellular defense mechanisms leads damage because toxic substances being increasingly formed during normal metabolism. This point view brings into consideration the possibility that, besides exogenous factors, process neurodegeration triggered by endogenous mechanisms, either toxin inherited metabolic disorders, which become progressively more evident with aging. In following review, we focus on theory neurodegeneration, excitotoxin-induced mitochondrial function three noxae most likely causes independently in connection each other. First, having discussed clinical, pathophysiological, pathological biochemical features movement cognitive discuss common these theories neurodegeneration separately. Second, attempt evaluate links between them third, experimental findings confirm rule out involvement any neurodegeneration. Finally, report some therapeutic strategies evolved from theories.
