摘要: Cholestasis is an alteration in the fl ow of bile resulting from decreases or cessation biliary excretion. To date, there have been only a few studies on this topic Colombia. This article presents twenty-one cases neonatal cholestasis Children's Hospital Cartagena, Colombia that occurred between 2010 and 2013. The aim study to characterize etiology clinical characteristics disease. Patients birth 3 months old with direct bilirubin levels over 2 mg/dl were selected. By gender, 52.4% patients male, 47.6% female. 76.2% full term, 57.1% had no perinatal antecedents. Clinical symptoms presented fi rst 30 days after 71% patients, 4 referred for liver transplantation. most common was infectious (13 patients), atresia. cause infection, but obstructive disorders such as atresia still account important proportion patients. They require priority handling because early intervention results better prognoses.
