摘要: Abstract Cotton fabric was modified using acrylic acid (AA) as the finishing agent in presence of K2S2O8 and NaH2PO4 catalysts separately or selected combinations, employing a pad-dry-cure technique. Treatment with 8% AA at 30°C pH 7 produced optimum effects: batching time 30–45 min followed by drying batched 95°C for 5 curing dried 140°C most balanced improvements textile related properties. catalyst allowed esterification cellulosic constituent cotton, radical polymerization free-AA cotton bound moieties, ultimately leading to some degree crosslinking chain polymers cotton. Examination surface morphology untreated treated fabrics scanning electron microscopy revealed good masking convolutions fibres crack cohesive film poly(acrylic acid) its salt, particularly when used either alone combination catalyst.
