摘要: Succinic acid monomethyl ester (SAM) was recently proposed as an insulinotropic tool in non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus. The present study designed to define whether SAM has the vascular effect thoracic aorta of streptozotocin (STZ)-diabetic rats. (1) Body weights diabetic rats were significantly increased after treatment (P<0.05). (2) Ten-day did not affect blood glucose levels SAM-treated control and STZ-diabetic (3) Maximum tension responses noradrenaline KCl (80 mmol l−1) different among all experimental groups. (4) pD2(−log EC50) values for untreated less than those controls, (P<0.01,P<0.001 andP<0.05, respectively). normalized decreased sensitivity response (5) Fast, slow total components (10−5mol l−1≅EC90) (6) There no significant differences between precontracted with from controls (untreated SAM-treated) pD2values potency maximum relaxation acetylcholine or sodium nitroprusside. In conclusion, 10-day increases diabetic–aortic rings compared
