Experimental and modelling assessment of precipitation kinetics in an Al–Li–Mg alloy

摘要: Abstract The precipitation behaviour in an Al–5 wt.% Mg–1.8 wt.% Li alloy has been systematically investigated for both isothermal and non-isothermal heat treatments, using atom probe tomography, transmission electron microscopy situ small-angle X-ray scattering. In the temperature range, δ′ phase is shown to form, with a Mg content similar that of alloy, 18.5 at.%. quantitative data on kinetics from experiments are compared outcome class model adapted case high volume fractions. parameters suggest main effect Al lower solubility α-Al solid solution, little interfacial energy precipitates or diffusivity Al.
