摘要: In the last decades worldwide rise in antibiotic resistance has intensified development of new antimicrobial agents. Photodynamic chemotherapy (PACT) been used successfully to inactivate bacteria. We herein report a zinc phthalocyanine based photosensitizer conjugated with polylysine moiety (ZnPc-PL). This significantly inactivated Porphyromonas gingivalis, primary pathogenic bacteria responsible for periodontitis. No obvious phototoxicity was found either mammalian bone marrow stromal cells (BMSC) or human periodontal ligament (HPDLC), indicating high selectivity ZnPc-PL toward Furthermore, we established an experimental periodontitis model on beagle dogs test efficacy vivo. The amount gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) and activity aspartate aminotransferase (AST) were monitored reduce treated group compared controls (laser only no treatment). addition, PACT caused reduction bacterial burden by 100-fold controls. Taken together, these findings suggest is promising treatment diseases.
