Prevalence and Severity of Asthma Symptoms in Children of Tehran- International Study of Asthma and Allergies in Childhood (ISAAC).

摘要: This descreptive study was conducted to determine the prevalence of asthma and related symptoms among 6-7 13-14 year old school children in Tehran as a part International Asthma Allergies childhood (ISAAC) phase III. The ISAAC written questionnaire given total 6127 students 72 schools urban area Tehran. Simple random sampling performed with uniform distribution throughout 12 clusters 2 divisions municipality. All were enrolled this study. Results showed that 15% olds 17% had positive history wheezing which 8.6% 10.6% respectively recent attacks. Physician confirmed reported 2.1% 2.6% age group. Severity assessed by frequency speech limitation due wheeze 1.5% aged group 3% olds. Exercise induced detected 2.3% 67year compared 15.3% Nocturnal cough more prevalent (18.4%) only 7.2% Overall, no significant change has occurred since 1997 (the last ISAAC) results our suggest higher rates years girls boys. However, extensive precisely designed studies are needed further confirm these findings.
