Prevalence, Risk Factors and Severity of Asthma Symptoms in Children of Kermanshah, IRAN: ISAAC Phase I, II

摘要: Asthma is the most common chronic disorder of school-age children and youth, with rising prevalence in all over world. By attention to geographic area there considerable difference asthma. The International Study Allergies Childhood (ISAAC), was founded maximize value epidemiological research into asthma allergic disease by establishing a standardized methodology facilitating international collaboration. To determine related symptoms Kermanshah (a city west IRAN) schoolchildren also identifying variables that increased risk using ISAAC protocols. This descriptive analytic study done written questionnaire additional questions about family number, demographic socio-economic characteristics two groups first second grade primary guidance schools (6-7 y, 13-14 y). Suggested sample size were applied selected randomly. Results analyzed SPSS soft ware 95% confidence interval. ISAAC-written completed total 6236 (48.7% 6-7 51/3% years old) schoolchildren. 50.4% students girls 49/6% boys. diseases as follows: 20.6% had ever wheezing (27.4% old 13.4% it 21.6% 19.5% boys). Among which estimated mean national 12-month wheeze (current wheeze), speech limiting , exercise wheeze, night cough physician diagnosed (ever asthma) respectively 30.1%, 5.4%, 9.4%, 7.3% 3.3% for year age group 44.2%, 13.5%, 28.9% 17.4% 2.1% group. Current higher Childs adolescents history smoking number. Comparing regional results this survey indicate more here, prevalent than boys but sever much less common. may be due better diagnosis control disease.
