摘要: Mungbean is an important source of vegetable protein for the growing population in many developing countries South East Asia. Its production limited due to its susceptibility diseases and insect pests besides other undesirable agronomic traits. Strategies increasing stabilising have been develop varieties resistant diseases, with desirable Genetic improvement this crop by classical breeding has met success lack sufficient satisfactory level genetic variability within germplasm. Recent advances biotechnology offered opportunity new germplasms. The development such technologies largely depends on efficient regeneration sexually mature plants from organs, tissues protoplasts. An overview plant direct or indirect organogenesis embryogenesis presented. use vitro molecular techniques as somaclonal variation, screening various traits, interspecific crossing transformation supplement conventional breeding, described. advantages limitations these along directions future research are discussed.
