摘要: Disappointing results in the treatment of aggressive central nervous system (CNS) neoplasms such as glioblastoma multiforme have fueled a search for novel modalities. New drugs and new radiation modalities are being tested. Biological materials also been explored potential anticancer agents. Such biological include immunotoxins, engineered cells that release diffusible factors, proteins, stem cells, immune- or vaccine-based modalities, gene-based virus-based therapies. The latter type experimental is subject this chapter.
