摘要: Measurements have been made of the effects low-energy electron bombardment (0–300 ev) on a chemisorbed layer oxygen polycrystalline molybdenum. Oxygen is adsorbed in two states at room temperature with approximate heats adsorption 60 and 110 kcal/mole, respectively. O+ ions are released from weakly bound state maximum probability 10−5 ion/electron an energy 90 ev. The ion-energy distribution, measured by retarding-field method, has about 6 ev half-width 5 ev. About 50 neutrals for every ion. threshold energy, 17.6 ± 0.2 ev, ion formation good agreement calculated value. neutral release strongly bonded 2 × 103 times smaller than state. A qualitative explanation proposed terms Auger neutralization near surface. Reflection distribution c...
