General practitioner based screening for cervical cancer: higher participation of women with a higher risk?

摘要: OBJECTIVE To test the hypothesis that a personal invitation for cervical screening by woman's own general practitioner (GP) achieves higher attendance of women with an increased risk cancer. SETTING Two practices and local health authority programme cancer, Nijmegen, The Netherlands. METHODS Attendance rates cancer were compared two strategies: (a) GP, (b) national call system through authority. Data on profiles gathered questionnaire. hundred thirty eight eligible invited their GPs (GP group), 235 (control group) in 1992. RESULTS GP resulted 18% overall attendance, 28% greater because sexual behaviour smoking. CONCLUSION Greater involvement inviting results particularly among risk, than less system.
