摘要: Introduction: Molecular testing for epidermal growth factor receptor ( EGFR ) and KRAS mutations is of increasing clinical importance in daily practice. In this study, we aimed to investigate the yield applicability molecular cytologic specimens obtained by EUS or endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS)-guided fine needle aspiration (FNA). Methods: We selected all patients with an EUS- EBUS-guided FNA positive lung adenocarcinoma from database our tertiary care center endosonography. Direct smears were Giemsa Papanicolaou stained. The remaining material was processed cell blocks. Both blocks considered suitable analysis when >40% aspirated cells tumor cells. All eligible samples investigated polymerase chain reaction followed direct sequencing. Results: Four hundred sixty-two underwent EBUS-FNA using 22-gauge needles. 35 patients, showed adenocarcinoma. eight could not be performed because insufficient after routine immunocytochemistry n = 3), a low percentage DNA quality 2). average 73% ± 23%. reliably 27 (77%). Mutation 10 (37%) two (7%) respectively. one patient, (p.Thr790Met p.Leu858Arg) detected. Conclusions: can routinely FNA.
