摘要: Testing for EGFR gene mutations and ALK rearrangements has entered everyday clinical practice the management of patients with pulmonary adenocarcinoma. With development more sensitive molecular techniques to detect specific mutations, small biopsy cytologic specimens are being used frequently diagnostic work-up characterization lung carcinoma. Molecular testing, however, is not widely offered due cost constraints technical complexity, including highly skilled trained personnel perform interpret results. Despite suitability material tests, samples periodically inadequate tests. Therefore, immunohistochemical stains offer potential mutant proteins as an alternative or adjunct thereby expanding availability tumors.
