摘要: In postmortem investigations of patients with dementia Alzheimer type (AD/SDAT) (n = 14) the brain weight was significantly reduced when compared to controls 16). four AD/SDAT-brain parts investigated concentrations 5-hydroxy-tryptamine and noradrenaline were while 3-methoxy-4-hydroxyphenylglycol increased. caudate nucleus AD/SDAT-brains dopamine homovanillic acid reduced. The activity monoamine oxidase B increased suggesting a proliferation extra neuronal tissue in AD/SDAT-brains. choline acetyl transferase investigated, showing general reduction acetylcholine system ganglioside concentration density nerve endings demented brains. AD/SDAT-group according rating scales severely demented. Patients an early onset disease more intellectually had pronounced biochemical disturbances than those late dementia.
