摘要: • Rheumatic fever has been disappearing in the United States, especially during past two decades. In years, however, there have 40 patients seen at Columbus (Ohio) Children's Hospital diagnosed as having acute rheumatic fever, marked contrast to infrequency preceding ten years. Twenty of had carditis. Five these were suffering from heart failure, and was one death. The cause for this outbreak not yet found, but some possible causes are discussed. A nationwide resurgence disease may be heralded by our experience that others. ( AJDC 1987;141:730-733)
